DAN BROWN IN FLORENCE

Florence is the perfect backdrop for movies! Discover the many secrets of Dan Brown with film director Roberto Valdes. Explore Florence from a filmmaker’s perspective, discovering how some of the movie’s famous scenes were made. Roberto will guide you through the week-end, in which the filmmaking workshop is just one of many highlights. Don’t forget to pack your camera!
DAY BY DAY
DAY 1 – Friday
Arrive at the railway station, meet the expert guide, and walk to the city centre hotel.
Dinner with typical local fare, plus a brief introduction to the tour. Special highlight: watch the film INFERNO filmed in Florence, and analyse it scene by scene.
DAY 2 – Saturday
Accompany Roberto to the many locations where the film was shot. Relive the scenes from the movie and analyse everything that goes into movie-making, from lights and locations to set design. Start from Boboli Gardens and head for Palazzo Pitti, the 15th-century palace that was home to the Medici family.
Lunch and continue to Palazzo Vecchio, including the Salone dei Cinquecento and the Hall of Geographical Maps.
Dinner at leisure.
DAY 3 – Sunday
In the morning, discuss film making with Roberto and recap what you’ve learned, before heading to the Baptistery of St. John, among other locations.
Farewell lunch and walk to the station.
