CELEBRATE LOVE
A private island, a secret garden, a magical place, a city of art, and a one-of-a-kind ring (imagined by you and then designed and crafted by a skilled artisan to be seen at work).
CELEBRATE LOVE is the tour created by Elesta to celebrate love, all year round: from Lake Pusiano to Siracusa, from Milan to Matera, from Sicily to every corner of Italy. For those who love the lake, it starts with a short boat ride to Cypress Island, an enchanting little place that seems to float on the calm waters of Lake Pusiano, which is also cozy and small. But great are the charm and history of this island, beloved over the centuries by many artists. Here, surrounded by centuries-old cypress trees and more than a hundred types of plants, you can indulge in relaxation in an intimate and cozy atmosphere.
To make this moment even more unforgettable, you will be able to design and have made a piece of jewelry, a precious unique piece of high craftsmanship. The itinerary is also proposed on other destinations: in Milan, with a tour of Brera culminating in front of Hayez’s famous Bacio and involving skilled goldsmiths such as Fabio Lissi, who combines the romanticism with his unmistakable rock touch, or the Merzaghi Jewelers, with a style more tied to tradition.
Or in Matera, where a visit to the Sassi and the less explored corners of the city is combined with a visit to Milena L’Annunziata’s artist atelier with her “sculptures to wear,” while in Sicily the tour includes a meeting, in the heart of Syracuse, with Massimo Izzo and his jewelry inspired by Mediterranean culture.
From island to island, the love tour arrives in Sardinia, in Cagliari, with its white historic center overlooking the sea. To discover its history, but also its secrets and love stories, “Me and Sardinia”’s thematic walking tours are ideal, complemented by a tasting of Sardinian wines and a romantic dinner in a castle with breathtaking views of the city. In the maze of narrow streets in the Marina and Villanova districts are numerous artisan workshops, including the goldsmiths, custodians of the ancient tradition of the filigree ring characterized by small spheres symbolizing grains of wheat, a wish for prosperity. In the workshop of Loredana Mandas it will be possible to admire its making.
Moving to Calabria, we can start at the National Archaeological Museum with the famous Riace Bronzes, a symbol of the timeless beauty of ancient Greek warriors. The Greek myth of the Odyssey returns to memory by visiting beautiful Scilla with Chianalea, the seaside neighborhood, while na tragic and poignant love story is the one that surrounds with legendary charm the Grecanic village of Pentedattilo, on the Ionian coast, a picturesque stone hamlet perched on a hand-shaped rock (its name, from the Greek, means 5 fingers).
