Aristocratic heritage: historic houses and franciacorta

Day 1 / BRESCIA

Arrival at Malpensa airport and private transfer to Brescia City centre. Check in at chosen hotel in the heart of the city, at the crossroads of culture, fashion, and design. Welcome drinks and light dinner at the hotel premises. Brief description of the tour by the expert.

Overnight in Brescia.

Day 2 / BRESCIA

Short walk to Palazzo Avogadro to meet the owners, the Lechi family. Time to discover this rococo house with the owners and to admire precious private collections. Aperitif in the halls of the building.

Lunch and walking tour of the city centre.

Transfer to the ancient stables of Palazzo Martinengo delle Palle. Dinner in the renowned restaurant La Sosta, inside the Palazzo. Tasting of local products and ancient recipes of the local tradition.

Overnight in Brescia.

Day 3 / FRANCIACORTA

Transfer to Palazzo Torri of Corte Franca, a typical seventeenth century house surrounded by vineyards, from which it is possible to enjoy a splendid view of the entire territory. Meet the owners and walk around to discover the estate, with amazing views over the vineyards on Lake Iseo and the house itself.

Lunch in the hall of the cultural cenacle attended in the past by important writers such as Carducci, Fogazzaro and Pascoli.

Visit Palazzo Bettoni in Brescia. The house was built in the 16th century by the Avogadro family, renovated in the 18th century by the Fenaroli family, and hosted many prominent personalities, including Napoleon. The Emperor’s room is still preserved, with decorated and awe inspiring ceilings.

Dinner at leisure and overnight in Brescia.

Day 4 / BRESCIA & SALÒ

After breakfast check out and transfer to the Malvezzi Castle of Brescia, destined in the 500 as a hunting lodge, then a noble residence and now a restaurant of haute cuisine. Welcome aperitif on the terrace overlooking Brescia, and then continue in the historic rooms of the castle. Lunch with chef Riboldi who will guide in the tasting of local dishes linked to the history of Brescia.

Refreshing stop in the hotel and transfer to Vittoriale degli Italiani in Gardone Riviera, visit of the monumental complex, built by the will of italian poet Gabriele d’Annunzio, as a place of memory of his exceptional life. Time to admire the house-museum, as well as discover the private objects and relics that belonged to the Vate.

Transfer to the small town of Salò and dinner at the Antica Cascina San Zago, an ancient 17th century convent, transformed into a historic agricultural structure, to then reach today as a quality restaurant.

Overnight in Macesina Bedizzole (Salò)

Day 5 / LAKE GARDA

Transfer by boat to Villa Borghese Cavazza. Visit the residence accompanied by the owners, to discover a fascinating eclectic residence in Venetian neo-Gothic style. In addition to the interiors, visit the Italian terraces and gardens, which redesign the island and slope down to the lake, creating a magnificent lake garden and a wonderful romantic atmosphere. Transfer by boat to Villa Bettoni Cazzago. Participants will be welcomed by the owners with a light lunch.

Visit the splendid eighteenth-century rooms, private collections and Italian gardens with spectacular views of Lake Garda.

Dinner and overnight in Macesina Bedizzole (Salò).

Day 6 / LAKE GARDA

Transfer to Lonato, a town of ancient origins and rich in interesting cultural heritage. Tour will start with a visit to the small Orthodox Church of the Blessed Virgin of the Corlo, located at the bottom of the hill, and then visit the Fortress of Lonato, built from the tenth sentury and enlarged by the Visconti, and the Casa del Podestà, eclectic residence characterized by one of the most important libraries in Italy. The house is now managed by the Ugo da Como Foundation and the group will be accompanied by the curator Prof. Lusardi. Lunch will be served in the charming rooms of the library.

Transfer to Calvagese della Riviera to visit the seventeenth century Buzzoni Carzago Palace and the Sorlini Museum of Art, inside the house. Visit one of the most important private collections of Venetian painting from the 14th to the 19th century, owned by the Luciano Sorlini Foundation. The collection consists of 183 works and includes great masters such as Giovanni Bellini, Tiepolo, Ricci, Guardi, Pitocchetto and Canaletto that are placed in 14 different rooms. Dinner at leisure.

Overnight in Macesina Bedizzole (Salò).

Day 7 / Departure

Check out after breakfast and transfer to the airport.
